Mennonite Church USA, a Protestant denomination with a diverse constituency of nearly 100,000 adult members, needed a revitalized web presence that would enable the church to manage and maintain the complex network of constituent organizations, each creating and distributing content out to individual congregations and interested members, all while maintaining a consistent look and feel across the site.
The challenge? To create a site that would deliver the right content to the right visitor at the right time, all while maintaining a brand-consistent and visually compelling message. To that end, Bisonia worked closely with members of the MCUSA marketing department to deliver an integrating website platform that stands apart and proudly proclaims the church’s beliefs and vision for a world at peace.
MCUSA charged FHD with building a site that delivered equally powerful experiences for both internal and external audiences, across mobile and desktop computers. As a denomination laboring to shed the perception that Mennonites are essentially the same as Amish, a contemporary look and feel driven by cutting-edge coding practices was a must.To that end, we crafted a visual language that hewed tightly to the existing MCUSA identity, while enriching the brand with animations, icons and typography.
The result is a redesigned website that reflects the forward-facing direction of the church and delivers important information in the right time. A refreshed digital presence with sections for social media and an easily navigable resource library were necessary for a church rooted in the past but forever looking to the future. As the partnership continues, MCUSA and FHD are working together to refine systems that will help website managers to deliver relevant content tailored to individual needs, as well as continued refinements to the overall user experience.
